What does this job entail?

Capital management is growing more and more important, both inside and outside the KBC Group. The global financial crisis has demonstrated just how important it is to have strong capital management. As a financial institution, we need a good balance between the build-up and execution of our strategy, profit making and the maintenance of the right capital buffers. The large, unremitting adjustments to regulations within this domain (such as Basel IV) present an extra challenge.

As our Capital Management Expert, you commit to optimising capital management for the KBC Group. With an outspoken vision and expertise, you support senior management in making substantiated, targeted decisions that accommodate defined strategic goals.

What do we expect from you?

• You create a creative strategic vision of capital management. This involves staying up to date with everything that happens, moves or changes in the domain.
• You develop appropriate solutions to optimise the capital level and the capital structure of the most important entities within the KBC Group. In doing this, you strive for the optimal balance of the legal requirements, the ambitions of the management team, the expectations of investors, the vision of rating agencies and client trust and confidence.
• You contribute to the development and renewal of concepts related to capital management, also participating in their follow-up. They include the interpretation of the regulating framework, identification of possible mitigating measures, long-term plans for the capital base, estimations of available measures for organic growth and formulation of recommendations relating to new initiatives such as takeovers, purchases of shares or dividend policy.
• You present your insights to colleagues and managers in a clear, understandable manner. You take on different standpoints and defend them to internal and external stakeholders, including the CFO of the KBC Group, the KBC Group Executive Committee & Board of Directors, plus supervisors and monitors (ECB and SRB).
• You use your goals, and those of your team, as the basis for synchronising and collaborating with your colleagues from other departments (Finance, Risk, Treasury & Legal, as well as diverse business units).

Votre profil :

• You have a master’s degree in the field of Law, Finance or economy.
• Your earlier work experience means you’re quite confident with the financial side of the banking and insurance world, and capital management and/or risk management in particular.
• You’re looking forward to a function where you use and deepen your expertise.
• Your superpowers include analysis and critical reasoning.
• You’re happy working with concepts and models.
• You communicate effectively in Dutch and English, whether writing or speaking.
• You and your colleagues are happy to take initiative. You understand the importance of continuous learning.
• You show enthusiasm and commitment, even when time restraints put you under pressure. You love working with others, as a single team, achieving goals.
• You’re respectful, responsive and result-oriented.
